The "dell support assist thing" also does not 'force you' to install any updates you don't want, including BIOS updates. It is a tool designed by Dell for use by both experienced and inexperienced users alike and can be easily removed once it's done its job if so desired. That's your choice, however, with the benefit of two decades being paid to repair countless computers for corporate clients, on a wide variety of different machines, including Dell, I can tell you that what you have read is quite simply garbage. when I read it has lot of security issues and malware, I didn't want anything to do with it. ![]() I also told you that you could skip the BIOS update in this post. The thing is you had asked me to do a few things which I didn't want to.
